Michelle & Tyler | Roblar Winery, Santa Ynez, CA

It's always a joy to witness the beginning of a marriage. With Michelle & Tyler, I not only got the chance to photograph the happiness on their wedding day, but got to see their undeniable connection when meeting with them prior to the big day. I remember thinking how did these two find each other in such a big city? I thought how lucky they were to have found a partner in one another. It was something in the way he looked at her and the way she easily laughed at his jokes. I'm a big believer in these kinds of seemingly little moments making up the solid foundation for a meaningful relationship. I wish them well in their married life and hope they look back on these photos often and fondly.

Karen & Patrick | Private Courtyard, Pasadena, CA

No matter the size or venue or level of formality, I think that making your wedding your very own makes for the most memorable and special day. Karen & Patrick did just that. Friends played music, Patrick made photo booklets with images he shot, there was a traditional Korean paebaek ceremony, and their sweet dog was the ring bearer. The pourover coffee station during cocktail hour may have been my favorite thing!

Ladies, consider a short dress! And those shoes!

There was a photo booklet at each table documenting every year of their relationship.

JACKIE & KYU | SADDLEROCK RANCH, CA

Jackie & Kyu's day combined a relaxed outdoor ceremony with a traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony during the reception. Although the couple met and live in New York City, they wanted to have their wedding where Kyu grew up in Southern California. Saddlerock Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for their stylish outdoor wedding. The day started off with Jackie cuddling with Stanley, the resident giraffe, and then promptly breaking out into a rash! It turns out she was allergic. Thankfully, a little allergy medicine cured the rash and she was off to the first look. Jackie had 3 Vera Wang gowns to wear throughout the course of the day and a traditional hanbok for the Paebaek ceremony. The Paebaek ceremony was filled with laughs as the couple caught about a dozen dates and chestnuts (representing the number of kids they will have). The night capped off with In-N-Out burgers. What's more California than that?!
