Zee & Jesse | The Greenpoint Loft, Brooklyn, NY

To have witnessed the love and commitment between Zee & Jesse from their engagement session through their wedding day filled me with a sense of joy. Maybe it was their ease with one another or that their love stemmed from a friendship or that both of them are so genuine… I just knew I was lucky to be a part of such a special time in their lives.

Their multi-cultural wedding included a Chinese tea ceremony and a traditional Jewish ceremony with a rabbi that effortlessly spoke in Mandarin for Zee's side of the family. Christine & Tara from Exquisite Affairs Productions, Inc. made the day flow from one special event to the next. See and hear more about their wedding over on Style Me Pretty.

Margaret & Drew | 632 on Hudson, New York, NY

I loved Margaret & Drew's wedding that combined a traditional church ceremony with a super unique reception. After the ceremony in a quaint West Village church, the couple and their families traveled via pedi-cabs to 632 on Hudson. If you haven't seen this wonderfully special venue, you're in for a treat. The owner, Karen Lashinsky, has traveled the world collecting pieces that fill the townhouse's intimate spaces. She truly has created a romantic and inspirational atmosphere that serves as an amazing backdrop for wedding celebrations.

Brie & Frank | Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn, NY

Brie & Frank had a classically elegant affair at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The beautiful outdoor ceremony was followed by their reception held in the amazing glass-walled Palm House.

Starting with Brie's intricate Lela Rose lace dress (you couldn't dream up a more delicate, stunning dress or the perfect bride to wear it), the day was filled with so many wonderful highlights. Frank wrote their first dance song so that they would have a song all their own. I mean, how much better can it get? How about the fact that Frank's brother played the guitar and sang their original song live while Brie and Frank danced. Not to be outdone, Brie sang the first dance song from Frank's parent's wedding to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I'm not a big crier at weddings (usually because I'm focused on shooting), but this moment did make me a little teary. It emphasized the importance of the day and the dedication it takes to commit and share your life with the one you love.

Tracy & Deshant | The Liberty Warehouse, Brooklyn, NY

There's always a moment during a wedding day where I forget that I'm working and get swept away by the fact that I get to be witness to one of the most important days in two people's lives.  The above photograph is right about that moment. I believe that it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing if you're with the one you love. Tracy & Deshant exemplify this belief in this moment, in this run down part of Brooklyn, where all that matters is that they are with each other.

Sonia & Victor | The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, New York, NY

Sonia & Victor had a beautiful wedding by the water in downtown New York. I loved that they embraced the busyness of the streets for a few photos. How great are Victor's socks with Sonia's shoes? It's even better that he picked those socks the morning of the wedding not knowing how perfect they would match her shoes. When it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

Courtney & Lazar | Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY

Courtney & Lazar are the coolest couple. Seriously. They have an ease about them that makes you want to just hang out. And knowing them as a couple makes you realize that "meant to be" does happen.

One of the best parts for me when meeting a couple is hearing about how they first met. I've heard a lot of great stories, but the simplicity of Courtney & Lazar's may be my favorite. Lazar complimented Courtney's hi-tops. She happened to be wearing them because it was casual Friday at her work. Lazar happened to be dropping something off from his work to hers. That's all it took.

Keeping up with being the coolest, they both had his and hers custom Nike i-D hi-tops made for the reception. And all of the guests danced down the soul train line in the street from the ceremony space to the reception!

Julia & Andy | The New Museum, New York, NY

Julia & Andy's wedding veered away from the traditional starting with Julia's short wedding dress and ending with a minimalist reception at The New Museum overlooking the Lower East Side. I love when a wedding keeps the focus on the couple and when that couple decide to do it their way.

Hillary & Dan | Soyuzivka, Catskills, NY

Hillary & Dan's wedding was extra special because they rented out a Ukranian resort, Soyuzivka, in the Catskills for the entire weekend. Like their engagement session, we spent most of our time outdoors surrounded by nature. Family and friends arrived on Friday for the Bar-b-q and talent show. The wedding itself was filled with personal touches that just made the day so intimate and fun.

I love these vests that Dan had custom made for his groomsmen. Each vest was labeled with the groomsmen's names.

Sam, a groomsman, brewed his first batch of beer and made a special bottle for Hillary & Dan. Don't you love that the label is a photograph of Hillary & Dan!

All of the gorgeous & delicious cakes were created by their friend Melissa who was also a bridesmaid. Check out her other amazing creations at www.cakehero.com.

Meredith & Madhura I Union Square Ballroom, NY

There are so many reasons why I loved Meredith & Madhura's wedding day... their intimate ceremony held in their living room... Meredith's short, black, Marc Jacobs wedding dress... the fact that we did their portraits while they took their sweet dog, Bella, on her daily walk... Meredith stopping for ice cream at her favorite ice cream truck... the 80s cover band, White Wedding, that played through the night... but most of all that Meredith & Madhura did exactly what they wanted which made their wedding so special.

What's better than a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutins for your wedding day?

How about 2?

Hillary & Dan Engaged

Hillary & Dan braved a surprisingly cold Spring day for their engagement photos at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Lucky for us, the cold kept people indoors and we pretty much had the gardens to ourselves.

We took the train together to start off the shoot. I love that it's just the two of them in some of the most crowded places in the city.

Hillary & Dan are both so creative that I thought it would be fun to include my Diana camera in a few shots. Dan is actually shooting in the image below.
